Slack, the popular team communication platform, is down, with hundreds of reports of users unable to send or receive messages.

As of Monday evening, outage-tracking website Downdetector had received over 900 reports.

The vast majority concerned issues accessing the Slack application. Other users reported problems with server connectivity and the platform’s website.

In July 2023, an hour-long outage left users worldwide unable to message each other.

Monday’s blackout is the latest in a series of outages on popular platforms. Just last week, Instagram, Facebook and its companion app Messenger experienced a major interruption.

The platforms were down for at least two and a half hours on Tuesday, sending hundreds of thousands of users into a panic as they struggled to sign into their accounts.

A source told DailyMail.com that Meta’s internal systems were not working at the time its service dashboard showed ‘major disruptions’ for many of its services.

Andy Stone, Meta’s communication director, posted a statement on social media nearly two hours after users first reported problems.

‘Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services,’ Stone wrote. ‘We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.’

He declined to elaborate on the nature of the technical issue.
